Robert Gonzales Burket Killed, Emma Kurtz Injured in Crash on Santa Fe Road

Riverbank, CA (August 14, 2019) – A teen was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Riverbank. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of August 14 on Santa Fe Road.

Robert Gonzales Burket, 19, of Modesto, was driving a Toyota Camry on a private road. He failed to yield to traffic before going onto Santa Fe Road. The Camry was broadsided by a big rig traveling north on Santa Fe. 

The big rig, driven by Glen McClure, 54, of Modesto, then collided with a Chevrolet Silverado pickup. The driver of the Silverado was identified as Arnold Mata, 53, of Modesto.

Burket was not wearing a seatbelt. He died at the accident scene. His passenger, Emma Kurtz, 17, of Modesto, was wearing a seatbelt and hospitalized with major injuries. The other drivers were not injured in the crash.
