
Sandra Oldfield Dies from COVID-19
Nurse Contracted Coronavirus From Kaiser Fresno Medical Center
Fresno, CA (May 25, 2020) – A longtime nurse died from COVID-19 after caring for an infected patient at Kaiser Fresno Medical Center. The woman died on May 25.
Sandra “Sandy” Oldfield, 53, was one of the pioneer nurses of Kaiser Fresno Medical Center’s telemetry unit. She was one of approximately 50 health care workers who were exposed to a COVID-19 patient in March. Ten nurses tested positive for the virus, including Oldfield.
She died on May 25. Before she became ill, Oldfield had voiced her concerns about insufficient personal protective equipment (PPE).
