Several Injured in Crash on Highway 1 Near Harkins Slough

4 Vehicles Involved in Watsonville Accident

Watsonville, CA (July 3, 2020) – Several people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Watsonville. The accident occurred on the afternoon of July 3 on Highway 1.

A truck hauling a disk harrow was traveling on Highway 1, near Harkins Slough, when it stopped on the shoulder of the highway. The disk harrow broke and started a fire.  

A Mercedes, Chevy 2500 and Chevy Silverado came to a stop. However, a Ford Transit van, driven by a 28-year-old Watsonville man, failed to stop. The Mercedes was rear-ended, sparking a chain reaction crash.  The drivers of the Chevrolet Silverado and the Mercedes suffered serious injuries.
