Social Worker Sylvia Bracamonte Killed by Teen at Group Home

Anderson Quinonez-Cabeza Arrested in Fatal Cotati Stabbing

Cotati, CA (March 20, 2020) – A social worker was killed at a group home in Cotati by a teen she was helping. The fatal incident occurred on the afternoon of March 20 at Community Support Network’s Sanctuary House, located on Old Redwood Highway.

Sylvia Bracamonte, 33, was attacked by a resident at the group home. Anderson Quinonez-Cabeza, 18, stabbed the woman to death. She died at the group home.

Bracamonte was not supposed to work that day, but the residents at the home needed groceries and supplies, so she stopped by to drop them off. Quinonez-Cabeza had made verbal threats against her in the past. He was arrested for homicide and booked into the Sonoma County Jail.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and loved ones of Sylvia Bracamonte.

How COVID-19 Affects Personal Injury Cases

Common, everyday events continue to occur unabated by the COVID-19 pandemic, including slip and fall accidents, car accidents and dog bites. Victims of these accidents can still file personal injury lawsuits as a response to these events, regardless if we’re in the middle of a pandemic. There are some issues that the pandemic creates, however, relating to these lawsuits, and these issues make it even more important than usual for injury victims to contact an attorney so they can discuss their legal options and rights and how to maximize their financial recovery.
