Herald, CA (December 10, 2019) – A man was killed in a solo-vehicle crash in Herald. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of December 10 on Alta Mesa Road.

A Toyota Scion was traveling on Alta Mesa Road, near Twin Cities Road, when it went down an embankment. It then hit a tree and overturned in a field. The driver died at the accident scene. He was identified as Takota Beck-Murphy, 20, of Galt

E-Cigarette Use Linked To ‘Cobalt Lung’

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months. The disease is also known as “cobalt lung.” The National Institutes of Health describes the disease as a “rare but serious disease of the lungs associated with inhalational exposure to tungsten or cobalt dust.”
