Phillip Hamilton, Paul Hamilton Arrested for Felony Battery in Van Nuys Accident

Van Nuys, CA (May 1, 2020) – A Target employee suffered a broken arm after two men started a fight over their refusal to wear face masks. The incident occurred on the morning of May 1 at the Van Nuys location.

Phillip Hamilton, 31, and Paul Hamilton, 29, entered the Target store on May 1. Neither were wearing face masks, although they were required to do so. They were escorted out of the store by employees.

As they approached the exit, one of the men turned around and punched a store employee – a security guard. The security guard fell to the floor and broke his left arm. A fight then erupted between the two suspects and several store employees.

After hitting the security guard, the other man was seen using his elbows to hit another employee, causing both to fall to the ground. Several customers also stepped in to break up the brawl.

The injured Target employee was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Target is cooperating with authorities. The two men were arrested for felony battery. Their bail
