SUV Overturns in Fatal Buttonwillow Accident

Buttonwillow, CA (September 2, 2019) – A man was killed in a solo-vehicle crash in Buttonwillow. The fatal accident occurred just after midnight of September 2 on Interstate 5.

A 47-year-old man from Long Beach, identified as Troy Edward Turner, driving a Chevrolet Tahoe on southbound Interstate 5, near Lerdo Highway. He made an unsafe turn, causing the SUV to leave the road. It went into the dirt center median. Turner then overcorrected to the right and lost control of the SUV.

The SUV overturned multiple times. Turner was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected onto Interstate 5. He died at the accident scene.
