On May 13, 2017, a stolen vehicle crashed into a tree along a busy stretch of Hollywood Boulevard and burst into flames, two individuals who were fleeing from cops were killed, authorities said.

Cops pursued the suspects as they fled east on Hollywood boulevard. At some stage, they lost control of the automobile, which jumped the curb and crashed into a tree.

The defendants were pronounced dead at the scene. No bystanders or officers were injured in the pursuit or the accident.

This active stretch of Hollywood Boulevard between North Bronson Avenue and North Gower Street was temporarily shut down while the LAPD concluded its investigation.

The streets were reopened after the wreckage was cleared.
