SUV Loses Control in Fatal Carpinteria Accident

Carpinteria, CA (May 3, 2020) – A man was killed in a solo-vehicle crash in Carpinteria. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of May 3 on Highway 101.

A man was driving an Infiniti FX35 on southbound Highway 101, near Padaro Lane, when the SUV drifted to the right shoulder. The driver swerved left toward the median and over-corrected to the right. He lost control and spun out. The SUV then flipped over and landed on the railroad tracks. 

The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the SUV. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. He was identified as Tyson Santos, 56, from Thousand Oaks.
