Vershad Raggins Killed, 4 Injured in Crash on 241 Freeway Near Windy Ridge Toll Plaza

Anaheim, CA (August 25, 2019) – A 7-year-old boy was killed and four others were injured in a crash in Anaheim. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of August 25 on the 241 Freeway.

The crash happened on the southbound 241 Freeway, near the Windy Ridge Toll Plaza. Vernon Raggins, 54, was driving a Kia Optima when his car became disabled. Just moments later, Byong Yun Choe, 60, was driving a Ford E350 minivan at approximately 75 miles per hour when he rear-ended the Kia.

Choe, Raggins and Raggins’ three children, ages 7, 7 and 16, were taken to a local hospital. One of the 7-year-old boys, Vershad Raggins, later died from his injuries.
