Walmart Employee Injured by Angry Customer

Woman Suffers Head Injuries in Victorville Retail Accident

Victorville, CA (April 23, 2020) – A Walmart employee suffered head injuries when she was attacked by several angry customers in Victorville. The incident occurred on the afternoon of April 23 at the store located on Palmdale Road.

A woman was with several people in the self-checkout area and was upset over the store’s policy of 10 items or less. The customer shouted profanities at an older female employee and pushed her. Another employee intervened and told the group to stop or they would need to use a regular register. As the employee attempted to inform security of the situation, she was beaten by 4-5 people.

The employee was bleeding and suffering from head injuries. Employees had to block off the self-checkout area to clean up the bloody mess.

The customers fled the store. The Walmart employee is at home recuperating from her injuries but is scared to return to work. Victorville Police Department is still investigating the incident.

How COVID-19 Affects Personal Injury Cases

Common, everyday events continue to occur unabated by the COVID-19 pandemic, including slip and fall accidents, car accidents and dog bites. Victims of these accidents can still file personal injury lawsuits as a response to these events, regardless if we’re in the middle of a pandemic. There are some issues that the pandemic creates, however, relating to these lawsuits, and these issues make it even more important than usual for injury victims to contact an attorney so they can discuss their legal options and rights and how to maximize their financial recovery.
