Woman Killed, 1 Injured in Crash at Highway 49 and Lone Star Road

3 Vehicles Involved in Fatal Auburn Accident

Auburn, CA (March 14, 2020) – A woman was killed and another woman was injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Auburn. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of March 14 at Highway 49 and Lone Star Road.

A woman driving a Honda and traveling south on Highway 49 when she lost control in the rain. As the woman approached a curve in the road near Lone Star Road, she swerved sideways and ended up in the northbound lanes. She hit a Mini Cooper, which then hit a box truck.

The woman driving the Honda died at the accident scene. The driver of the Mini Cooper was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the box truck was not injured.
