Vehicle Rolls Down Embankment in Fatal Chico Accident

Chico, CA (August 21, 2019) – A woman was killed and a man was injured in a solo-vehicle crash in Chico. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of August 21 on River Road. 

A 21-year-old woman was driving a Nissan south on River Road. The Nissan failed to stop at a stop sign. It then went across an intersection and rolled down an embankment. It came to a stop near an orchard.

The driver died at the accident scene. The passenger, Chico resident Francisco Cervantes, 23, suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Neither person was wearing a seat belt.
