Woman Killed in Crash at West Redondo Beach Boulevard and South Vermont Avenue


Isaiah Lono Arrested for Vehicular Manslaughter, Hit and Run, DUI in Fatal Gardena Accident

Gardena, CA (August 29, 2020) – A woman was killed in a hit and run crash in Gardena. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of August 29 at West Redondo Beach Boulevard and South Vermont Avenue.

Isaiah Lono, 19, of Hawthorne, was driving a stolen Dodge pickup truck when he collided with a Nissan Sentra at the intersection. The driver of the Nissan, an unidentified woman, suffered life-threatening injuries. She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. 

After the crash, Lono fled the accident scene on foot. He was later arrested for DUI, hit and run, vehicular manslaughter and homicide.
