Kathy Vargas Arrested for DUI in Perris Pedestrian Accident

Perris, CA (December 16, 2018) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident in Perris. The fatal crash occurred on the morning of December 16 on Encanto Drive.

Kathy Vargas, 19, of Homeland, was heading north on Encanto Drive when she went into oncoming traffic. She then drove onto a sidewalk, where she hit two pedestrians.

One pedestrian, identified as a 26-year-old Perris woman, died at the accident scene. The other pedestrian, a male, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Vargas was arrested for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
