Woman Killed in Crash on Highway 49

2 Vehicles Involved in Fatal Jackson Accident

Jackson, CA (October 13, 2020) – A woman was killed and a man was injured in a crash in Jackson. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of October 13 on Highway 49.

Witnesses saw a Ford sedan pull out of a nearby parking lot and into the path of a Dodge SUV that was traveling south on Highway 49. The two vehicles collided, causing the sedan to go down an embankment. 

The driver of the sedan, an unidentified man, suffered head injuries but was speaking. He was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. The passenger, an unidentified woman, was unconscious. Emergency crews removed the woman and started CPR. She could not be revived and died at the accident scene. The driver of the Dodge was shaken up but otherwise not injured.
