Victim Killed by Driver Fleeing From Police in Fatal Berkeley Accident

Berkeley, CA (January 20, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed by a driver fleeing police in Berkeley. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of January 20 at University Avenue and Sixth Street.

The University of California Police Department had attempted to stop a motorist, who instead drove away. The driver fled westbound on University Avenue. While on Sixth Street, the motorist made a wide left turn. He drove up onto the sidewalk and hit a female pedestrian. Firefighters arrived at the scene and found one person on the ground who was not moving. The woman died from her injuries.

The driver fled the accident scene. Police are still looking for the vehicle, which is described as a charcoal gray 2010 Nissan sedan. There were two occupants inside the vehicle.
