Redding, CA (August 20, 2019) – A elderly woman was injured when a semi truck rear-ended her in Redding. The accident occurred on the afternoon of August 20 on Interstate 5. 

A woman stopped her vehicle for construction on northbound Interstate 5 near Oasis Road. A semi truck could not stop in time and rear-ended the woman’s car. The impact caused her to crash into a sign. The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The semi truck driver was not injured.

The disease is also known as “cobalt lung.” The National Institutes of Health describes the disease as a “rare but serious disease of the lungs associated with inhalational exposure to tungsten or cobalt dust.”
