Distracted Driving Causes Fatal Los Angeles Accident; Rosario Valdezinda Arrested
Los Angeles, CA (January 23, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed due to distracted driving near MacArthur Park in Los Angeles. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of January 23 near 6th Street and Grandview.
The pedestrian, identified as Yong Do Kim, 65, was crossing the intersection when he was hit by Rosario Valdezinda, 38. She was distracted by the cellphone at the time of the crash.
The crash was caught on video. Kim died at the accident scene. Valdezinda tried to flee the accident scene, but witnesses prevented her from leaving. She was arrested and charged with gross vehicular manslaughter. She posted $50,000 bail the next day.
