Man in Critical Condition After Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in Oakland

Pedestrian Fatality, Fatal Pedestrian Accident, Pedestrian Killed

Oakland, CA (April 13, 2019) – A hit-and-run crash in Oakland has left two people dead and one in critical condition. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of April 13 at 26th Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.

The crash happened when the driver of a black two-door Mercedes-Benz was traveling westbound on Foothill Boulevard. He hit three family members – Angel Garcia-Vasquez, 6, his mother, 30-year-old Alma Soraya Vasquez, and his 20-year-old uncle – as they were crossing the intersection in a marked crosswalk.

Angel and his mother died in the accident. The boy’s uncle is currently hospitalized in critical condition.

The driver fled the accident scene. The car was later found abandoned in another neighborhood. Police identified the suspect as Rasenoch Allen, 27. Police are offering a possible $25,000 reward for information leading to Allen’s arrest.
