Betty Yee Suffers Injuries in Alameda Crash
Alameda, CA (July 13, 2018) – California State Controller Betty Yee was injured in a crash in Alameda. The accident happened on the afternoon of July 13 in the Posey Tube.
Yee and her husband were traveling in the Posey Tube, an underwater tunnel connecting Oakland and Alameda. They were in a vehicle driven by a CHP officer. The vehicle stopped in traffic and was rear-ended.
Yee and her husband were both injured in the accident, but are expected to survive. The driver of the other vehicle suffered serious injuries. He allegedly was under the influence of marijuana at the time of the crash.
