Bryce Melendez, 11, was crossing Double Springs Road when he was hit by a Chevrolet Cruz, driven by 30-year-old Frances Barron from Valley Springs. Melendez, a student at Jenny Lind Elementary School, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
