Hernandez Unconscious in Merced Accident; Big Rig Driver Jushawn Davis Not Injured
Merced, CA (April 11, 2019) – A woman was left unconscious after a big rig accident in Merced. The crash happened on the evening of April 11 on Highway 59 at Gerard Avenue.
Candelaria Hernandez, 45, of Merced was traveling east on Gerard Avenue in a Nissan Altima when she stopped at the stop sign at Highway 59. She failed to yield the right-of-way to a Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by Jushawn Davis, 45, of Gilroy. The two vehicles collided, with the big rig broadsiding the driver’s side of Hernandez’ Nissan.
Hernandez was unconscious and taken to a local hospital. Davis was not injured in the crash.
