Byetta, Januvia and Victoza Side Effects

side effects byetta anuvia victoza

Nadrich & Cohen, LLP, a nationally renowned law firm, is actively representing prescription drug side effect victims in all 50 states who have been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer while on the diabetic drugs Byetta, Januvia and / or Victoza.

Recent studies have shown that these drugs can be linked to chronic asymptomatic pancreatitis which can turn into Pancreatic Cancer or Pancreas Cancer.

A recent medical study dated March 17th, 2013 from a professional magazine entitled: “Diabetes,” documented a study in which medical doctors concluded that patients who use Byetta, Januvia and / or Victoza have a greater risk to develop increased pancreatic mass and pre-cancerous cells which could lead to pancreatic cancer than non Byetta, Januvia or Victoza users.

As a result of this article the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published a Public Advisory entitled “A Drug Safety Communication” announcing that they are going to study and research these diabetes drugs which are also known as Incretin Mimetics.

The drugs are as follows:

  • Byetta
  • Januvia
  • Victoza

Pancreatitis is another of the common Januvia and Byetta side effects. Additional studies will now be ordered concerning the link between these drugs and pancreatic cancer. What further makes this unfortunate is that the “Public Citizen” Consumer Advisory Agency on behalf of drug consumers published a press release in late March 2013 concluding that the above drugs have no special benefit for diabetics.

Public Citizen requested a recall be issued for Victoza. They will probably now seek to have the entire group of Incretin Mimetics including Byetta and Januvia and Victoza recalled.

Nadrich & Cohen, LLP, is investigating whether or not the drug manufacturers knew or should have known of the increased risk of pancreatic cancer from the drug’s use. We will seek to hold these manufacturers responsible if they knew or should have known of these dangers yet failed to adequately warn the public or patients of the known dangers.

byetta side effects

Nadrich & Cohen is actively interviewing Byetta side effect victims who have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer or other significant pancreatic related injury. This from the use of the above diabetic drugs.

Pancreatic cancer and its precursor side effects include:

  • Weight loss
  • Upper abdominal pain
  • Loss of appetite
  • Jaundice
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea, imbalance and vomiting

victoza side effects

Nadrich & Cohen are reviewing complaints throughout the country regarding by Victoza side effects victims. This diabetes drug has been associated with significant side effects including thyroid cancer, pancreatitis, kidney failure, and even birth defects.

If there is a Victoza recall, we expect to be involved in many Victoza lawsuits as Victoza lawyers.

Victoza was approved in January 2010 for diabetes treatment. So far there have been reported side effects of pancreatitis and thyroid cancer.

Thus far, the FDA has received approximately 200 adverse event reports of Pancreatitis side effects. We believe there are many more Pancreatitis side effect victims than what has thus far been reported to the FDA.

There have been further reports of kidney failure.

There was a subsequent Victoza label change warning of kidney failure. There were also subsequent label changes including birth defects warnings.

Currently, 150,000 prescriptions of Victoza are sold monthly.

Our are investigating Victoza side effects claims in all 50 states. We are interested in speaking with victims and their loved ones who have been diagnosed with pancreatitis, kidney failure or thyroid cancer while on Victoza.

januvia side effects

Januvia is a drug used to treat Type 2 Diabetes. Unfortunately, there are many acute Januvia side effects including the following:

  • Acute pancreatitis
  • Necrotizing pancreatitis
  • Hemorrhagic pancreatitis
  • Death

Januvia is manufactured by Merck and Co. It was first approved for sale and distribution in the United States in 2006. It lowers the blood sugar levels in a patient. The effect is to produce insulin in the body so that a proper balance can be had, between the amount of insulin and the amount of blood sugar.

The most common of all of the Januvia side effects is acute pancreatitis or the extreme inflammation of the pancreas.
