Charysteena Urbina Arrested for DUI in Crash on South Carpenter Road


Mariah Lujan, Iliana Garcia Urbina, 2 Others Suffer Major Injuries in Modesto Accident

Modesto, CA (September 18, 2018) – A Ceres woman faces DUI charges after causing a head-on accident in Modesto. The accident happened on the morning of September 18 on South Carpenter Road.

The crash involved a Chevy Silverado pickup and a Saturn sedan. Charysteena Urbina, 24, was driving her Saturn northbound on Carpenter Road near Hatch Road when she drifted into the adjacent lane. She hit the Chevy pickup head on.

The pickup driver, a 42-year-old Modesto man, suffered critical injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Urbina also suffered serious injuries. She was placed under arrest and taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Urbina was taken to Doctors Medical Center with major injuries. She was placed under arrest but not booked because she required hospitalization, CHP spokesman Officer Thomas Olsen.

Urbina’s two passengers also suffered major injuries. Mariah Lujan, 23, of Ceres and Garcia Urbina, 20, of Modesto, were both hospitalized.
