Crash Into California Aqueduct In Hesperia Kills One
Hesperia authorities responded to the scene of an accident at the California Aqueduct on Escondido Avenue and Main Street. Water flow was shut off after deputies discovered a 2017 Kia Forte submerged in the channel. The vehicle was located south of the Main Street Bridge.
A woman’s body was recovered from the vehicle. The female was later identified as Xanthel Linares. The vehicle drove through a fence near the aqueduct and plunged into the aqueduct. Linares phoned her mother to let her know that her car plunged into the California Aqueduct.
This is not the first fatal accident that occurred at this section of the California Aqueduct. Back in March, two children and a mother died when their car went off the same stretch of road and plunged into the aqueduct.
