Los Angeles, CA (January 16, 2019) – A woman was killed in a hit and run crash in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of January 16 on Hyperion Avenue.

Cristina Garcia, 57, was standing on the sidewalk between two trash cans in the 1800 block of Hyperion Avenue when she was hit by a Toyota Corolla. The impact caused Garcia to land 15 feet away.

The driver got out of the car and then sped off, spinning out of control. Police are still looking for the vehicle. It is described as a tan or brown four-door Toyota Corolla, model year 2010-2013, with damage to the right side and rear. The bumper was hanging as the driver fled the accident scene.
