3 Vehicles Involved in Accident in Independence
Independence, CA (February 22, 2019) – Two people were injured in a crash in Independence. The accident occurred on the afternoon of February 22 at Fort Independence Travel Plaza, located off US-395.
A Toyota Sienna, driven by Sonia Rivera, 52, of Santa Clarita, attempted to turn north on US-395 when she pulled directly in front of a vehicle driven by Oceanside resident Deborah Ann Yank, 68. The impact caused a front tire of Yank’s vehicle to fall off. Her vehicle then collided with a Toyota 4-Runner driven by Newhall resident Toby Bech-Nielsen, 47.
Yank suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Rivera suffered minor injuries and was not hospitalized.
