Redding Accident Leads to Injuries, Arrest
Redding, CA (July 19, 2018) – A DUI car crash in Redding has injured a woman. The accident happened on Alta Mesa Drive at Rancho Road on the morning of July 19.
The collision happened when a Honda Accord ran a stop sign and hit a rock wall in front of a house. The victim, 19-year-old Dena Bommarito, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Honda, 24-year-old Joseph Sharpe, was arrested by police as he was walking away from the crash. He was under the influence of alcohol and cannabis at the time of the crash. He faces criminal charges of felony DUI causing injury, felony hit and run and others.
