Teen Boy Injured in Fatal Carjacking Accident in West Covina

West Covina, CA (October 12, 2019) – Two people were killed and a 13-year-old boy was injured in a crash involving a carjacking in West Covina. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of October 12 at Glendora and Cameron avenues.

A carjacking took placed in Baldwin Park. Police tried to pull over the stolen vehicle – a Jeep Patriot – but the driver refused, and a chase ensued. The Jeep was traveling down Glendora Avenue and crossing Cameron Avenue when it collided with a car. Inside the car was a 13-year-old boy, his mother and stepfather. 

The mother and stepfather, identified as Eddie Contreras and Gracie Contreras, were ejected during the crash. They died at the accident scene. The boy suffered serious injuries and is currently hospitalized in critical condition. The suspect was also injured and taken to a local hospital.
