FAQs How & When To Hire A Lawyer

FAQ - How and When to Fire Your Lawyer

Can I fire my lawyers and hire you?

Yes. Your first lawyer will usually be entitled to payment for the services rendered up to the date they were substituted out. The lawyer will be paid out of our fee at the conclusion of the case. You do not have to be concerned. Your former lawyer will work out an arrangement with us for payment of his or her fees. You are not involved in these negotiations and it will not delay the receipt of your share of the settlement.

How long do I have to file my case?

In California, you are required to file your personal injury case within two years from the date of the event or incident that caused the injury. There are several exceptions including for minors, medical malpractice or if a governmental entity is involved. For an explanation of these time limits, consult with us as we are very experienced in these matters.

How much money is my case worth?

Your case is worth what a jury of your peers would agree that it’s worth. Our settlement demands and offers use that knowledge as part of our estimation of your case value. We study every detail and take everything into account so that we can get you the best settlement possible.

Will I have to go to court?

Probably not. Almost all of our cases settle before the court because we prepare and submit a detailed, point by point settlement demand of your case. We can, therefore, settle your claim fairly and will not have to file a lawsuit. During this phase of negotiations, we will keep you informed of all events. We will accept no settlement or reject any offer without your approval. If settlement efforts are exhausted without an acceptable resolution, we will then file a lawsuit on your behalf.

Are you available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

Yes. Our phones are answered 24/7. You can always call us at 1-800-718-4658.
