Fatal Hit & Run Accident on Wellsford Road in Modesto

April 13, 2017: A male whose body was found on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, along Wellsford Road east of Modesto was the victim of a hit and run crash, as stated by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.

Following an autopsy Thursday morning, the deceased male couldn’t be identified due to the significant physical disfigurement. However, he’s considered to be in his 60s, said California Highway Patrol Officer Chuck Leon. DNA or dental records will probably be required to make that identification.

A Stanislaus County Public Works employee, who was operating a mower on the roadway’s shoulder, discovered the victim’s body on the East side of Wellsford, north of Parker Road.
