Hepatitis C Drug Incivek Linked To The Serious Side Effect Stevens Johnson Syndrome
On December 19th, 2012, the FDA issued a public release stating that it had received an undue amount of adverse incident reports in which patients who took Incivek developed the very serious skin disease known as Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS). Many of these patients were using Incivek in combination with peginterferon alfa and ribavirin for the treatment of Hepatitis C. Some patients died after developing the SJS and/or TEN conditions.
The FDA added a black box warning that the combination treatment should cease and patients are now warned that this treatment can cause Stevens Johnson Syndrome. There is nothing more serious than a black box warning.
If you or a loved one was diagnosed with Stevens Johnson Syndrome or Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN) after taking Incivek, Dilantin, or any other over the counter medication, you may be eligible for a financial recovery.
