I-5 Crash Involves 70,000 Pounds of Pineapples
2 Men Suffer Minor Injuries in Red Bluff Accident
Red Bluff, CA (July 19, 2018) – A semi truck hauling 70,000 pounds of pineapples literally crashed and burned in Red Bluff, causing serious slowdowns in the area. The crash happened just after noon on July 19 on I-5 near Jellys Ferry Road.
The accident occurred when the semi truck’s driver fell asleep while traveling on I-5. The truck went down an embankment and landed in a gully that separates the northbound and southbound lanes.
The truck then overturned, spilling most of its pineapples. It then caught on fire, destroying the truck and most of its cargo. The fire burned an acre of grass in the center divider. The two men inside the truck suffered minor injuries.
