Infant Killed in Car Accident
A driver who ran a stop sign in Tulare caused an accident that claimed the life of an infant. The fatal crash happened at the intersection of Avenue 256 (E Oakdale Ave) and Road 124 (N Oakmore Rd). A minivan swerved to avoid the pickup truck that ran the stop sign. It then hit another vehicle head-on.
The impact caused the baby inside the minivan to be thrown out the window. The baby girl, who was 6 months old, died at the accident scene. The 30-year-old female driver of the minivan suffered a broken leg. There were also an adult male and two other children in the minivan, but they were not harmed.
The infant’s car seat was not properly installed. Had it been, she might have survived the crash.
