72-Year-Old Habib Dies in Fatal Linda Pedestrian Accident

Linda, CA (February 21, 2019) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident in Linda. The fatal crash happened on the morning of February 21 at Hammonton Smartville Road and Lowe Avenue.

Virginia Castaneda, 45, of Marysville, was driving a Dodge Caliber when she stopped at the intersection. She didn’t see the pedestrian and started to accelerate to turn left, hitting 72-year-old Jamila Habib of Marysville.

Habib suffered major injuries. She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. Nobody inside the Dodge was injured.
