Gonzalez Arrested for Stealing Vehicle, Leading Police Chase in Santa Maria

Santa Maria, CA (April 9, 2019) – A woman led police on a chase through Santa Maria in a stolen vehicle, causing it to roll over. The accident occurred on the afternoon of April 9 on West Main Street.

A police officer attempted to pull over a reckless driver in the 500 block of West Main Street. The driver led police on a chase. The driver lost control and crashed near W. Main Street and S. Simas Road. The vehicle rolled over.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the trapped driver, identified as 26-year-old Keely Gabriella Gonzalez of Lompoc. Gonzalez, who was intoxicated, was injured in the crash and taken to a local hospital.

It was determined that the vehicle was stolen. Gonzalez was booked into jail with bail set at $75,000.
