6-Year-Old Girl Hit by Mother in Eureka
Eureka, CA (May 30, 2018) –An accident in Eureka has led to major injuries for a 6-year-old girl. The accident happened on Perkins Court on the afternoon of May 30.
The accident occurred after the girl was buckled inside her mom’s Hyundai SUV. Her mom, 28-year-old Jamie Bivens of Eureka, went inside her house to retrieve something when she backed her vehicle out of her driveway. Unbeknownst to her, her daughter had unbuckled the seat belt and was behind the SUV.
She ended up hitting her daughter, Lilly Bivens, age 6. The impact caused Lilly to fall to the ground. She suffered major injuries to her right leg and back. It is believed that she has a broken right leg. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
