Low Testosterone

We are investigating cases regarding side effects of Low T testosterone replacement therapy involving men who have used Androgel, Axiron, Testim, Androderm and other testosterone-boosting prescription drugs.

We are investigating claims where users had suffered: heart attacks, strokes, blood clots and even death following use of these treatments. including heart attacks, strokes, blood clots and even death.

On February 6th, 2014, Public Citizen, the nationally known public advocacy organization filed a claim with the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) requesting that these testosterone products be required to carry a Black Box warning indicating risks associated with these products. Public Citizen requested that the Black Box warning be included on packaging for testosterone replacement therapy products

Public Citizen also requested that the FDA send a letter to doctors advising physicians of the risk of adverse side effects associated with these medications.

Instead of adequately warning the public, the manufacturers successfully and cleverly marketed these products to a generation of men claiming that these products can halt or retard the natural aging process. Men chose to use these products without knowing the dangerous risks and side effects. Most alarming is that more than 12,000 prescriptions for these products are filled every day.

The National Dangerous Drugs Law Firm of Nadrich & Cohen is investigating testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) side effect claims nationwide. We are also offering confidential, free consultations for men and their loved ones who have suffered the above injuries or side effects after using Androgel, Axiron, Testim and the other Low-T treatment medications.

We are reviewing claims for the following side effects:

  • Heart Attacks due to Cardiovascular Damage
  • Strokes
  • Pulmonary embolism
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DV)
  • Death

We handle these cases on a contingency basis. We only collect a fee, if a recovery is made.  Contact our intake specialists today about whether or not you qualify for a TRT side effect claim.

On January 31, 2014, The FDA issued a Medical Safety Alert warning men of certain risks and side effects of testosterone-boosting products. There were reported increased risks of blood clots, stroke, heart attacks and death related to gels, creams, injections, pills and implants following the use of these products.

These medications are prescribed to men who have been diagnosed with hypogonadism, a condition associated with low levels of testosterone. Hypogonadism can be caused by a person’s genetic profile or following chemotherapy to treat cancer.

These drugs are used by men to boost diminished sexual drive and diminished energy levels. The medications have also been prescribed for off-label uses, which are uses not specifically approved by the FDA. Most of the testosterone boosting products are administered via gel, transdermal patch, injection and pellet implantation.

The FDA Safety Alert referenced the following Low Testosterone Treatments

  • Androgel
  • Axiron
  • Testopel
  • Bio-T-Gel
  • Fortesta
  • Testim
  • Delaterstryl
  • Dep-Testosterone

A study published in the medical journal, PLOS ONE, concluded that men over the age of 65 who used the drugs had double the rate of heart attacks compared to those who did not use low-t therapies.

In 2011, over 5.25 million prescriptions were filled for low testosterone treatments. Most prescriptions were for Androgel and Axiron.  Sales of these drugs are expected to reach $5 billion in 2017 as demand for such treatment increases.

The attorneys of Nadrich & Cohen, LLP believe that the manufacturers of low testosterone medication did not adequately research the side effects associated with these treatments prior to seeking FDA approval.  We also believe the manufacturers may not have included adequate label warnings or failed adequately to warn patients of associated heart attack and stroke risks in their television ads.

We are actively investigating cases in order to bring testosterone lawsuits throughout the country to obtain a monetary recovery for testosterone treatment side effects, including blood clots, heart attacks, strokes or death.
