FDA announces new Low Testosterone warning labels
On June 15th, 2014 the FDA announced that new warnings would be added to the labels of Andro Gel, Testim, Axiron and other Low Testosterone medications.
The warnings include an increased risk of DVT or Deep Vein Thrombosis, Pulmonary Embolisms and blood clots resulting from testosterone replacement therapy. These warnings are in addition to earlier known side effects including heart attacks, strokes and other cardiovascular side effects due to “Low T” (short for Low Testosterone).
The FDA has finally concluded that current warnings have not adequately disclosed the health risks caused by Low Testosterone products including risk of blood clots.
As Low Testosterone lawyers we applaud the FDA’s efforts. We hope they will go farther in protecting consumers from the inherent dangers of Low Testosterone medications.
