Man Arrested Following Fatal Accident In Boyle Heights

A guy was detained on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter after his vehicle crashed in front of a taco stand in Boyle Heights on November 10, 2017, killing an 11-year-old woman.

The defendant was later identified as Jose Luis Perez. Perez supposedly crashed into parked vehicles and crashed into the taco stand in the 900 block of South Marietta Street in Boyle Heights.

The victim was taken to an area hospital and was later pronounced dead. The victim was identifed as 11-year-old Elektra Yepez. Two women were also injured, with one of the victims sustaining a fractured leg.

A minor passenger in the automobile was detained for possession of nitrous oxide. Authorities stated that speed was a contributing factor.
