Man, Dog Killed in Crash With Caltrans Truck on Highway 101
San Jose Accident Causes Slowdowns, Fatalities
San Jose, CA (October 15, 2018) – A man died in a crash with a Caltrans truck in San Jose. The fatal accident happened on the morning of October 15 on Highway 101.
A Caltrans sweeper and a “shadow truck” were traveling at low speeds on southbound Highway 101 near the Brokaw Road off-ramp. A Dodge Ram was traveling at about 65 mph when it rear-ended the shadow truck.
The driver of the Dodge died in the accident. A dog inside the truck bed also died. A Caltrans worker was hospitalized. Several lanes were closed for five hours as authorities investigated.
