Man Killed in 5-Vehicle Crash at 18th and I Streets
Ivan Dimov Arrested in Fatal DUI Accident in Sacramento
Sacramento, CA (December 24, 2018) – A man died in a DUI crash in Sacramento. The fatal accident happened on the morning of December 24 at 18th and I streets.
The crash happened after Ivan Dimov, 41, of Antelope, led police on a chase through Midtown Sacramento. The man turned off his headlights near 18th Street and police lost sight of the vehicle. A minute later, police came across a crash at 18th and I streets. Five vehicles were involved in the accident.
The man had run a stop sign and T-boned one car. He also hit three parked vehicles. The driver of the T-boned car, a 28-year-old Sacramento man, was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
Dimov was arrested at the accident scene. He suffered major injuries in the crash. He faces charges of felony DUI, vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and evading officers.
