19-Year-Old Dies in Head-on Accident in Castroville

Castroville, CA (March 13, 2019) – A 19-year-old man was killed in a head-on crash in Castroville. The fatal crash occurred on the evening of March 13 on Highway 1.

A 19-year-old Castroville man was driving a Honda Civic north on Highway 1, near Highway 183. He crossed into the southbound lane and hit a Toyota Camry head-on.

A 56-year-old woman from Watsonville was driving the Camry. She and a passenger, a 17-year-old boy, suffered moderate injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

The driver of the Civic was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. The cause of the crash is unknown.
