Man Killed in DUI Crash on Highway 24
Dennis Toshimi Tajiri Arrested in Walnut Creek Accident
Walnut Creek, CA (November 4, 2018) – A man is facing criminal charges for hitting and killing another man in a Walnut Creek crash while under the influence. The fatal accident happened on the morning of November 4 on Highway 24.
The man caused a fiery crash the eastbound Highway 24 connector to Interstate 680. Officers arrived at the accident scene to find that a Chevrolet Volt collided into a Nissan Z sedan, with the Nissan then bursting into flames. The driver, who was trapped inside, died at the accident scene.
The driver of the Volt, Dennis Toshimi Tajiri, 68, of Concord, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. After he was released, he was taken to jail and charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI.
