Marlene Lorenzo Killed in Big Rig Crash at 37th and Broadway

12-Year-Old Sister in Grave Condition After Fatal Los Angeles Accident

Fatal Pedestrian Accident, Pedestrian Fatality, Pedestrian Killed

Los Angeles, CA (April 4, 2019) – A 14-year-old girl was killed and her 12-year-old sister is in grave condition after a pedestrian crash in Los Angeles. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of April 4 at 37th and Broadway.

Marlene Lorenzo, 14, and her sister Amy Lorenzo, 12, were walking to school when they were hit by a big rig at the intersection. The girls had the right of the way when they were run over by the big rig. The driver did not see the girls or even know he ran them over until he was flagged down by a witness.

The truck driver and a witness called 911. Marlene Lorenzo died from her injuries. Amy Lorenzo is currently in critical condition.

The truck driver and owner are cooperating with the police investigation. There are no signs of intoxication and distracted driving does not appear to be a factor.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and loved ones of the victim.
