When my kids were young, we used to drive through the neighborhoods to find the best out-of-the-way neighborhood parks that weren’t overcrowded, had something for everyone, and had the “coolest” playground for the kids. The Charles M Sharp Park in the Woodland Neighborhood fits the bill quite nicely!
This very safe and well-kept park is a nice family park surrounded with homes. Perfect for young couples with small children up to retirees looking for a place to stroll and exercise in the open nature areas.
This is a great park to have a Birthday party or other get-together with the large playground structure for kids, swings, restrooms, and picnic areas with tables and shelters from the hot midday sun.
The outdoor nature areas and trails lends themselves to those looking to walk their dogs, bike ride, and otherwise getting some exercise amongst the greenery.
The park is not short on activities either. It boasts a nice baseball/softball field, basketball court, volleyball, open athletic fields, and soccer fields that are host to teams practicing during the week with the occasional game on the weekends.
If you’re looking for a new haunt for the kids, Charles M Sharp Park is worth the trip. It’s located at 1900 Torrid Ave in Modesto and may just turn into one of your favorite parks to frequent.
