Motorcyclist Dead Following Crash on SR-60 in South El Monte

10-29-17 A motorcyclist died following an accident with a disabled vehicle on the SR-60 near South El Monte. The motorcycle came to rest underneath the disabled vehicle that was blocking the number one lane on SR-60 westbound.  The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. near the Santa Anita Avenue exit.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the accident site.  Two of the freeway’s westbound lanes were briefly closed Sunday morning for debris clearance and investigation.

The reason for the crash was not immediately known, although fog may have played a role.

The incident is under investigation and no further details were immediately available.
