Escondido, CA (October 16, 2019) – A motorcyclist was injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Escondido. The accident occurred on the afternoon of October 16 at West Washington Avenue and North Escondido Boulevard.
A motorcyclist from Escondido was heading east on West Washington Avenue when he attempted to pass a Volkswagen Jetta on the left. However, the woman driving the Volkswagen was merging at the same time, causing the motorcycle to collide with the driver’s side of the car.
The motorcycle then rear-ended a Ford F-250 pickup that was stopped in the turn lane. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle. He was taken to a local hospital, where he is in critical condition.
The driver of the Ford pickup fled the accident scene. The truck was described as a white Ford F-250 between model years 2000 and 2006 with two shovels standing up in the pickup bed.
The driver was described as a Hispanic man with a mustache. He was between 35 and 40 years old and was wearing a gray T-shirt and a baseball hat. A woman and child were seen in the truck with him.
