Destiny Schwartz Arrested for DUI in Fatal Grass Valley Accident

Motorcycle Fatality

Grass Valley, CA (September 26, 2019) – A woman has been arrested for DUI after killing a motorcyclist in a Grass Valley crash. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of September 26 on Highway 49.

A woman was heading north in an SUV on Highway 49 near Cherry Creek Road. She veered into the adjacent lane and lost control. She drove back into the original lane and her SUV rolled over. 

A motorcyclist heading north then crashed into the SUV. The motorcycle rider, a 38-year-old Grass Valley resident, was killed in the crash.

The woman in the SUV, identified as Cedar Ridge resident Destiny Schwartz, 21, had been driving under the influence of marijuana and prescription drugs. She has been arrested and is facing charges of DUI and manslaughter.
